Note: Thanksgiving, Learning, Curation & The Prom!

Dear Learning Colleagues,

Thanksgiving and Learning Go Together!

It is a wonderful time for connection, reflection, consideration, great food and appreciation for the opportunities and even challenges of life.

I wanted to send this note as my own appreciation of the world of Learning!  I am so thankful for almost over 40 years in the field of learning - and my career is only 1/2 done :)

Personally, I celebrate the rise of innovation in learning.  In fact, our learners are leading and pushing innovation - as they expand and evolve their approaches to curiosity, discovery and information.  Learners outside of work are using technology to connect to people and assets - often at the very moment of need or problem.   Our learners are memorizing less, watching more video, connected to more resources, reaching for more sources of information, desiring more context, asking for more curation to optimize their learning, and making learning a daily or even hourly part of their day - rather than a yearly trip to a classroom.

We also have major shifts happening in these areas:

* Learning Roles: From eLearning Designers to Learning Producers.
* Learning Formats: Agile and Reusable Content.
* Technology Frameworks: Learning BlockChain and Experience Focused Systems.
* Learning as Investment in the Workforce: McDonald’s, Discover and Walmart Supporting Frontline Education.
* Curation as a Key Resource for Learning: Optimizing Content, Context and Collaboration.
* Learning Data Analytics: Big and “My” Learning Data.
* Global Learning: Many Voices, Many Languages and International Collaboration.
* AI/Machine Learning and Automation: Reality, Hype and Disruption.
* Leadership Shifting from Promotions to Skills from Day 1.
* Learning Changing with the Changing Workplace, Workforce and Career Model.

I am SO EXCITED about Learning in the months and years ahead.

The MASIE Center will be rolling out a range of new LABs, Programs, Research Projects and Collaborations to explore and prepare for the shifts happening in Learning.

And, our recent Learning 2018 was an amazing collaboration of 1,867 global learning colleagues.  Starting on November 27th, we will provide Curation of the key content, context and conversations from our recent event.  We will send a note in Learning TRENDS with details to access the open video, text, infographics and curated content.

Also…

The PROM is on Broadway and in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thursday:

MASIE Productions is so proud to be co-producers of The PROM that just opened on Broadway to rave reviews.  Here is a short video clip to share the music and social relevance of this fun show:  https://youtu.be/66UhXFDMlRI

And, you can watch us on the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thursday morning!
