1. Political Management Perspectives - Obama Talks to Staff: TRENDS will highlight content from both U.S. Political campaigns that is interesting from a management or staff development perspective. Here is a video clip of Obama talking to his staff at their Chicago headquarters this week about their team process and culture:

Apart from political content, it is interesting to watch how the campaigns deal with internal staff. Since I have been working with the Obama campaign, I have reached out to the McCain campaign for a TRENDS reporter to provide similar content. Our goal is not to endorse or influence our readers, but rather to use the campaigns as “real time case studies” to talk about management and learning.
2. Online in the Classroom - Hot Debate in LearningTown: When a student in a classroom turns on his/her laptop, is this a PLUS or MINUS for the learner, other learners or the instructor? * Strategies for preparing the workplace, workforce and learning framework for a changing world.
